Annual General Meeting (Members Only)

Location: Panel Room at Park House

Annual General Meeting (Members Only) in the Panel Room at Park House (Toby Inn) near Town Gate, Sutton Park NNR on Wednesday 24th April 2019 at 19.30.
Our Guest Speaker will be Professor Ian C. Trueman eminent botanist, who has been associated with the Park for many years.  His talk will be entitled ‘A New Flora for Sutton Park’ and should make for an interesting evening.

Archaeological Walk No. 6, with additions

Date: April 6, 2019

Time: 10:00

Location: Bracebridge car park

Led by Dr. Mike Hodder and starting from Bracebridge car park at 10.00. We will first go into Upper Nut Hurst, and will visit a newly discovered lodge close to Darnel Hurst.  This discovery was made after Walk No. 6 was devised, so it is exciting that there are still discoveries to be made in the Park. We will then go on to Bracebridge Pool to continue our walk

FOSPA/GREAT BRITISH SPRING CLEAN

Location: Visitor Centre, near Town Gate

FOSPA/GREAT BRITISH SPRING CLEAN in Sutton Park NNR Meeting Visitor Centre, near Town Gate B74 2YT 10.00 – 12.00.  We will be covering the area from Town Gate to Hartop Gate and returning via Blackroot Pool.

THE BIG PLASTIC PICK UP

Community Litter Pick – Saturday 16th March 11.00 – 13.00. Meeting at the Visitor Centre, Sutton Park NNR to collect equipment etc.,

HAT – History – Archaeology – Task Group

Date: February 2, 2019

Time: 11:00 - 14:00

Location: Visitor Centre, Sutton Park NNR

We meet at the Visitor Centre, Sutton Park NNR on the first Saturday of each month at 11.00. – 14.00. to manage the areas surrounding the archaeological features around the Park, and enhance the visual aspect.

Archaeological Interpretation Scheme: Walk No.4

Location: Boldmere Gate

AIS Walk No.4 (with perhaps a few additions) led by Dr. Mike Hodder on  Saturday September 29 10.00. from Boldmere Gate. It should take approx 1.5 hours plus question time.

Eco Festival

Location: Corner of Thornhill and Hardwick Roads, B74 3EH

FOSPA have a stand at the Eco Festival. This year’s festival theme is ”The Good Life’.

‘Drop In’ sessions at the Visitor Centre

Time: 11:00 - 12:00

Location: Visitor Centrre

Following anti-social behaviour, including cycle thefts in Sutton Park NNR, West Midlands Police have launched an initiative with a series of ‘Drop In’ sessions at the Visitor Centre.  These will take place at 11.00hrs – 12.00hrs on the following dates:

8th September 2018

6th October 2018

4th November 2018

1st December 2018

These sessions are an opportunity for Park users to meet face to face with members of the WMP Neighbourhood Team to discuss any issues or ask a question, not just relating to the Park but also where you live.  They will also be offering security marking for cycle users.

Dawn Chorus

Our Dawn Chorus from Wyndley Pool, always a good starting point with the geese and other water birds.

Led by International Ornithologist and Ringer Dr. Robert Skeates.
