Please note that the walks listed below may cross uneven ground and rough terrain. Please wear suitable footwear. All FOSPA events are free of charge and open to non-members, excepting the AGM which is for members only.

Archaeological Walk led by Dr. Mike Hodder

Date: October 8, 2022
Time: 10:00 am
Location: Boldmere Gate car park

Archaeological Walk led by Dr. Mike Hodder: Saturday 08 October 10.00. from Boldmere Gate car park – This will include medieval boundaries, Holly Hurst and remains of a First World War camp.

As with all Fospa walks, there will be no charge for these events. As some of you will know, parts of the Park can be very muddy.

Archaeological Walk led by Dr. Mike Hodder: Saturday 26th March 10.00. from Bracebridge car park – This will include Pool Hollies, sawpits, wood boundaries, a deer park subdivision, and First and Second World War remains.

As with all Fospa walks, there will be no charge for these events. As some of you will know, parts of the Park can be very muddy.

Archaeological, Ecological and Historical Walk

Time: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Location: Town Gate

A New Walk Starting from Town Gate at 10.00. on Saturday 22 January 2022.

In addition to the archaeological aspects by Mike Hodder, there will also be two additional experts – Richard Orton will talk about the ecology, flora and fauna and Marian Baxter about the historical aspects of Sutton Park NNR, lasting approximately two hours, depending on questions and answers, please wear suitable boots or shoes for possibly muddy paths.

Our Guest Speaker will be Alison Macdonald, Assistant Inspector of Historic Monuments (Midlands). Sutton Park is mostly scheduled ancient monument and is protected by law.

GREAT BRITISH SPRING CLEAN – POSTPONED

2019 Litter PickPOSTPONED Annual Litter Pick in Sutton Park National Nature Reserve with a number of local community groups and anyone else who would like to join us.
Saturday 28 March 2020 from 09.00 – 13.00. meeting at Town Gate for registration and pick up equipment: Litter Pickers, Bags and Gloves.
Please bring your own water bottle and Hand Sanitiser.
